LA Auto Show: Attack of the 3-Ton Hybrids By John Voelcker. First Published November 2007
21 mpg?
Something stinks (and not just CO2) here.... How anyone can award this truck with a green award? Compare this to a VW Polo diesel (without Hybrid) that manages 61 mpg. Giving an award to a vehicle that achieves 21 mpg is ludicrous. But I guess this comes from carmakers that build a Hydrogen powered Hummer as a publicity stunt - lets not go into the mileage and range of that beast....
When are we going to see Detroit build real environmentally sustainable vehicles instead of road dinosaurs that consume vast resources (material and energy) to build and then to run?
Shame on Spectrum for propogating such weak innovation and environmental unsustainability, without more critical comment in the article.
