Ben Lee:

OK, but who says that it has to be uncompressed? I would figure that this kind of product can still be viable because you can always add an encoder before transmission and a decoder upon reception. In fact, HD transmission does that now, so what's the big deal with compression?

I think this kind of product is definitely needed today. The question is whether it can still meet user requirements by the time it comes to market. (i.e. needs to think about 10Gb/s bandwidths?)

I've wanted to separate my powerful HTPC from my TV for a while, but without fishing a long video cable through the walls or ceiling. A product like this could make that possible.

Bernard Smith:

If we look beyond the limitations of present offerings, what we have is a "must have" technology. It will take time to arrive, but its delivers the kind of total wireless coverage that everyone wants. I am also certain that it will be integrated into a package that tracks movement, gestures, voice commands, etc. within confined spaces such as domestic or meeting room environments.
