Anyway, as soon as Yahoo's got bought by Micro$oft, I'll definitely leave my 10-year account on it, moving to Google. That simple.

How ironic...the company known for proprietary standards is trying to buy a company known for pioneering open standards. I don't believe for a minute that Microsoft is going to suddenly start adopting open standards after they buy Yahoo. More likely, we will see Yahoo's leadership in this area fall by the wayside as Microsoft begins to corrupt the standards process (for example, as they have with the OOXML "open standard"). Microsoft's moves towards open standards have been entirely in response to pressure from EU antitrust regulators and other government pressure.
