The 13th International Conference on Advanced Robotics took place in South Korea last month. ICAR 2007 took place in Jeju island, South Korea from 21st to the 24th of August, chaired by Prof. Sukhan Lee. The conference theme was “Viable Robotic Service to Human,” with six plenary lectures by Prof. Rüdiger Dillmann, Prof. Henrik I Christensen, Prof. Shigeki Sugano, Dr. Michel R. Parent, Dr. Munsang Kim, and Dr. Antal K. Bejczy.Two hundred and twelve papers were presented in 42 sessions. Prof. Dennis Hong and his co-authors from Virginia Tech won the best paper award, accompanied with US $1000 cash prize, for their paper titled “Novel Tripedal Mobile Robot and Considerations for Gait Learning Strategies Based on Kinematics.” ICAR 2007 also offered an exhibition of service robots, exciting opportunities for business interaction and social networking, as well as cultural experience in a beautiful tropical island surrounding.

To say that IT automation saved not only my network but my business too would be an understatement. I struggled for a long time with lots of bugs and spent to much money on IT personnel so that they could spend the day patching things up. I wasted so much money and time on this approach.
Both my IT manager and I started looking into ITIL automation to begin new! After an extensive look at automation solutions we started setting up data center automation. The process took about six months but it was well worth the wait. We’ve been able to improve application availability for everything on the network and have made our client’s business software applications much more reliable which has resulted in an increase in business!
